從道不從君從義不從父
Follow the Way, Not the Ruler; Follow Duty, Not the Father
入孝出弟，人之小行也。上順下篤，人之中行也；從道不從君，從義不從父，人之大行也。
To be filial at home and respectful abroad — this is the minor conduct of a person. To be compliant to superiors and sincere to those below — this is the middling conduct. To follow the Way rather than the ruler, and follow duty rather than the father — this is the great conduct of a person.
